Life in the midst of the threat of Covid-19
This blog has been restarted on the 18th of April 2020 whilst on restrictions due to the pandemic. Thank you Google Cloud Platform. So far the experience has been much better than Amazon AWS, which i used for my web accessibility course files but that is not an expert opinion.
The waves of people falling off the ranks of the employed have hit the place I work for and the atmosphere feels a bit dire, reminiscent of an experience i have had with a previous workplace where the acquisition of our employer by a large firm necessitated restructuring and there were redundancies in stages. It was a strange feeling being one of the last to be let go at our site and yet I had to travel and train people in Perth and Brisbane to do my job as a Material Master for our ERP system SAP. To be fair, I was offered to keep my job but relocate to Western Australia and I said no thanks.
